I have been looking at Canon rebels. Do I NEED a tamron lens right away? Will it take good pictures of toddlers without it?
I am not so sure it is within the budget to get the lens right away. Perhaps I can ask for gift certificates for Christmas. I am wondering if I can just get the body and learn the various features over the summer (when I have off work) and then get the lens when I am more comfortable with the camera.
Re: f/u - photo Qs - all momtogs welcome
you won't learn the camera without a lens, if that's what you're saying. The kit lens is OK, but you'll notice the lack of abilities in light, b/c of it's variable aperature.
sometimes you can find the whole thing cheaper than buying a body only new, sometimes not. The tam runs about $400 new, but the nifty fiddy is about a $100.
You wouldn't be nuts to get the body and the fiddy to start. It's a prime lens, you'll have no zoom but your feet, but it takes nice piks in low light, too.
OK, sorry, my pricing is dated. I miss the days my glass was under $2K, lol. Here's some links (buy only from Amazon, Adorama and B&H, IMO)
TAM
FIDDY
BODY ONLY
BATTERIES (these are off-market ones that ROCK, I notice NO diff b/t them and the Canon brand, except SUPER cheap!)
I didn't find the very best deals, rather just grabbed you the links from the 1st few I saw. GL !!
