A few neat ideas from my shower

I had my shower yesterday and my BFF and cousin did an AMAZING job of putting together a wonderful celebration for us.  I thought I'd share a couple of really neat ideas they added to make it even more personal.

Books instead of cards: The hostesses suggested that each guest bring a book for LO in lieu of a card with a personalized message for us to read to him when we read him the story.  As a result, we have 40+ books to add to his library each with a little message from someone we love!

Diaper encouragement: Each guest filled out a little card with a message of encouragement for DH and I.  The hostesses filled a basket with diapers and stuck a message in many of the diapers, so each diaper change for the first few days will surprise us with a note from a loved one. I LOVED this idea!

The whole day was so special, but these little touches will make days with our LO even more special when we can think of all the people who love us and our LO!

The note in the diaper idea is cute.  Although, I think in the middle of the night when you are up changing diapers you won't care about reading a note from someone and may even forget it's there in your sleep deprived state.  But, that's just my thinking.

at my friend's shower we wrote the message on the actual diaper....super cute!

We did the book thing, but the diaper encouragement thig is so much fun, I will recommend that to my sister whose shower is coming up!

I LOVE the book idea!  I am a huge reader (that I attribute to my mom reading to me so much) and I plan to do that with our baby as well.  I am going to pass that idea along for my mom and MIL to consider for my shower, thanks for sharing!

and may just diaper it up along with the child, hence the next morning reading that note covered in early morning poo lol but it is still a cute idea!
