How my morning started today...

The girls woke up at 5am. I began to tandem feed them in thier boppies in their room. They were gulping down their bottles. I burp them both and then continue. Pretty routine feeding at this point.

So, they were both down to the last ounce. At this point, I do diaper changes. So I change everyone's diaper. Back to the boppies.

As I'm sitting down to feed again, Emily projectile vomits EVERYWHERE!! Boppy is soaked, clothes are soaked, formula in her ear -  gross. So, I proceed to change her. As I was changing her, Abby decides to unload in her diaper. I can hear it clear across the room.

So, I put Emily back in her crib after I'm done with her and go to get Abby. I put Emily from the crib back in Abby's boppy to keep her upright.

As I am undressing Abby, its clear that she has a MASSIVE blowout. Poop is everywhere! Then I hear Emily projectile vomit AGAIN!

At this point, I'm flustered. I have one baby covered in poop and the other baby covered in vomit. I scream for DH to come out of bed and help me. We get everyone changed and cleaned. Finish feeding them and now they are both fast asleep again. Phew!

So, in the hour that we were down there, I went through enough to fill a full load of laundry covered in vomit and poop. Now, I'm sitting on the couch drinking coffee just to try and re-start my morning. Happy Sunday to everyone!

  • Thanks for the play-by-play. I am expecting twins in June, my first child(ren) and I have no prior experience so I'm anticipating many action-packed mornings like yours. *GULP*

  • Yes the double vomit and poop. I'll see your double vomit and poop and raise you a pair of vomits and a pair of poops!!! All at the same time during tummy time on clean blankets. Hahahahahahahahhaa!!! Mmmmmm coffee!!!

  • Coffee and alcohol are pretty much the only things that keep me semi-sane lately.

    Hope your day improves!

  • Aww, poor thing.  Glad you're getting some coffee and some down time.

This was similar to my Friday.  There was screaming, a grabbed bowl that sent food everywhere, and did I mention the irrational screaming?  I gave DS1 to DH while I loaded the car and went straight to daycare. I didn't pack lunches, fix my hair, or clean up half the mess.  I found the end of my rope that day, and I was about one step past it.

  • LOL, thanks for sharing!  I love reading these stories to my husband and seeing the look on his face!   Im semi-prepared to deal with that (as much as you can be for being a first time parent) but my husband is in for a hell of a ride!!  HAHAHAHA We will find out soon enough!

  • Oh man.  Sounds like our Saturday morning that involved explosive poop on the way out the door that was so bad, DS had to be cut out of the onesie underneath his bubble.  He then got poop in his hands so we decided to clip his nails and I cut his finger.  His screaming was so bad, DH ran for a paci and grabbed one out of the wrong bed and then, to top it all off, DS, who was naked on the changing table, wearing nothing but socks and shoes, decides to fireman pee everywhere.

Fortunately, DD was sleeping peacefully in her car seat the whole time.  Otherwise we would have needed more than the 2 of us to deal with it.

Being a MoM is so nutty sometimes, but, all the fun of seeing your babies start to interact (mine recognize each other and smile now!) is so SO worth it.

Hope  your girls have gotten all the poop and vomit out of their system for the day!
