ugh. baby shower timing advice

i'm throwing a baby shower for my MOH.  unfortunately, I've been a total slacker about getting the invites out, and it's now 3 weeks until the date I had been planning to have it.  oops.  there are several out of town guests who are invited, but more as a courtesy - we don't expect any of them to actually come.  I could push the date out by 2 weeks, but then she'll be 34 weeks along, and I feel like that's a little late.  so...wwyd?  i'll be using evite, if that matters.

I had mine at 36 weeks and it worked out well so I voted for the later date. However, I think it depends on what ur MOH is ok with--is she equally comfortable with both dates or does she have any a slight preference towards the earlier date? If so, then I'd keep the earlier date and get the invites out asap. GL!

I voted for the first date so she'd have longer to prep and get things ready. Besides that I delivered Bella at 35 weeks, not saying that everyone goes early, but just in case! Then she'll have longer to use completion coupons and figure out what else she needs.

I also vote for the first date.Is this her first baby? She may want to have everything set up early. Also, she'll have a little bit more time to get the stuff she did not get in the shower. Will you be able to send the invite this weekend? If you don't have the details yet, at least send a save the date. And yes, there's always the possibility that she'll go early. You just never know.

I voted for the first date. If it makes you feel any better, I just received an invite for a baby shower that is on 3/12 this past Thursday.

I think you're fine either way. I had the shower around 36 weeks and the timing was just fine for me. I also don't think that 3 weeks is too short notice if most guests are local. But if you have both options, maybe ask the mama what she'd prefer.

update - i did the obvious (thanks for pointing it out ) and asked my friend - 3/13 it is!  invites went out the same day, phew.
