Ordering for the first time

This cloth diaper thing is a whole new world for me. I would love some guidance. 

I am going to order the Thirsty Duo covers Size 1. How many should I buy to start for my newborn?

Between 4-6 is a good number of covers, depending on how often you plan to do laundry.  I order from cottonbabies and like them but my favorite so far is kellyscloset because they have good coups.  Right now its $5 off $25 and $10 off $75 or if you spend $59 you get a free OS.

My store of choice is Sew Crafty Baby, but I've had really good service from Cotton Babies also.

I had a great experience ordering from diaper junction. I had my cloth diaper registry through them and loved it.

I say 4-6 covers is a good place to start. If you buy the diaper rite prefolds from diaper junction they are really nice too. I have 24 purple edge and still use them. I did the prefold package that came with the 4 bummis super whisper wraps and 2 dozen prefolds. 

If you have any other newborn diapers I would only get 18-24 newborn prefolds because your little one will probably fit into the next size up fairly quickly.
