3 weeks ago I found out I was pregnant I was 5 weeks and my blood work came back good with a progesterone level of 22.3. Last week I went to my first OB appointment and they did all sorts of blood work and within 2 weeks my progesterone dropped to 9.6 so now I am on prometrium 200mg 2 X's a day which makes me feel extremely tired.
Because my progesterone came back low they had me come in yesterday for an Ultra sound.
7 weeks & 5 days baby looked good the tech said right size and the heart beat is 128 which she said was a strong heart beat.
They did find an extra sac BLOOD SAC I believe she said but I am completely confused on what it is exactly. She did tell me that I was not to have sex until they said so and that they would have me back in a week to make sure that blood sac is not getting any bigger. (The blood sac is not were the baby is)
I also need to return to see if my progesterone level is increasing with the pills.
I really hope so because I do not know how I will handle another MC I am 26 years old and pretty health I just hope that our little baby will be ok this time around.
Has anyone had these complications? Or do you have any advice or info on the extra blood sac or low progesterone?
Re: Low Progesterone, Blood Sac (Preg after MC)
Hi-
First, congrats on your BFP!
I have been in your shoes several times. I have had "low" progesterone with pretty much all of my PG's. I have been on progesterone every time as well. My first prog. draw with this PG was a 15 and I actually chose not to use the prog. Long story short, I have had 3 m/c's and I was on progesterone each time. BUT.....I have also been on prog. with my successful PG's as well. I just chose not to use it this time because I don't like the side effects and this was our last PG, regardless of how it turned out. It can really help, so stick with it! Also, prog. levels will fluctuate a lot during PG.
About the blood sac: it is most likely what they call a subchorionic hematoma. I have also had this twice. I had one with my last PG and I had one with this PG. They usually shrink and disappear. You *can* have some bleeding from these. It is not usually a danger to the PG, they will just continue to watch it.
GL to you!
