Re: Brigham vs. BI?

  • I was not initially high-risk, but developed PTL at around 7 months and was on bedrest for 8 weeks until I finally delivered by unexpected (but not emergency) c-section.  My experience was great, especially with the nursing support after the delivery.  Breast feeding was very important to me (but is notoriously difficult after a section) and the nurses made it very possible for me, and really let me have a lot of say in my care, which I loved.  HTH

  • i was high risk with twins last year.  i was diagnosed with TTTS and had a very short, weak cervix.  unfortunately, we lost the twins at 21 weeks and delivered at BWH.  they were AMAZING.  i love all the nurses and staff there.

i had a cerclage placed at 13 weeks this pregnancy.  the surgery was done at BWH and again, had a GREAT experience with their L&D docs, nurses & staff.

  • I'm not sure which is better but I delivered at BI last year. I had a great experience. I was not high risk but ended up with a c-section because my baby was turned sideways (not breech). I wanted a natural birth and they let me try as much as possible but it didn't work out (out of my control). My OB was amazing. The staff there was great and my recovery room was HUGE. I had visited a friend who delivered at Brigham's several years before and her room was teeny tiny compared to mine. It made a difference because I had so many visitors, and it gave me an opportunity to walk around in the room when I needed to. My bathroom was HUGE too! It was like a suite almost! The food was good as well. If I am still in the area for baby #2 I will deliver there again.

Thank you for your post. Who was your OB at BI?
