Random cleaning question- Piano?

We are storing IL's piano in our sitting room and I've been wondering what the proper way to clean it is. The lid/top (?) is propped open so all the strings are exposed. I've been dusting the main parts of the piano with a cloth but what's the best way to keep the inside dust-free? Can I use some of that compressed air or is that bad for some reason?

When we had mine tuned last the guy took a shop-vac and vacuumed it out.
