My best friend, who has been more like my sister since we were 3 years old, is one of the only people I would name my child after (if it's a girl) Only thing is, I want to use her name (Mallory) as a middle name, but finding a first name I like to go with it has been rough. I was wanting to see what others can come up with b/c my brain is fried!

I think when you are honoring someones name you shouldnt worry about finding that perfect flowing name. You should find a FN that you love and use it with the name your honoring. Some how over time it will go together.
My DD name is Megan Joan (pronounced JoAnn) Joan after my grandmother. I never thought the 2 names went together. When I told most people what her name was I got the look, but when I said her MN was after my grandmother they of course change there look. Now I think her name flows very well. I never cared what it sounded like because I new Joan was going to be her MN no matter what.

I totally agree. focus on a name you love first, not worrying about flow.
we used 2 family names for our dd. I might not have chosen them together if not for that reason, but now, they seem to flow perfectly.
