What does DC sleep in?

We've gone to just the fleece sleepers with footies.  DH doesn't think it's warm enough.  So if I ever find those long sleeve onesies, I'll layer that.  What does your child sleep in?

Should I go get a gigantic sleep sack?

We let our house get down to 67 degrees at night.  And I give DS a blanket, but he moves around a lot an eventually kicks it off.  Of course, he also runs warm, so even with just the sleeper, his head is all damp with sweat by the time I put him down.

Re: What does DC sleep in?

  • We do the fleece footed sleepers with a short sleeve onesie and socks.  I usually end up putting a light blanket over his once he falls asleep too.

  • I have DS room at 70 or so and we put him in footie jammies and a light blanket over just his legs. Oh and I use a swaddle me some nights.

But for the most part just regular footie jammies and a blanket.

  • DS is definitely warm enough!!  DD sleeps in a cotton footed sleeper right now, but as it starts to get cooler at night she'll switch to Carter's fleece sleepers.  She's always been warm enough.  I also cover her with a blanket and tuck it in under her legs.

I've also seen sleep sacks that are footed as well.

  • Now she usually wears a one piece PJ with long sleeves/long pants, sometimes with socks, then swaddled in a baby blanket.  She's a pretty warm kid in general so we try not to overdress her.  I have some heavier PJs out of fleece and such for later in the winter, but for now we have her in more lightweight PJs.

  • DD wears the footed carters fleece PJs with a fleece blanket over her.  I did notice that this morning she seemed a little cold so I may layer it with a onesies and socks here shortly.  We do try and keep the house right at 70, but it seems sooo much colder now that the weather has shifted.
  • I just switched ds over to the fleece footed jammies.  I do a short sleeve onsie underneath, and socks when it gets colder.  He has a cozy blanket but of course won't keep it on, and I am too scared he will wake up to go in and cover later.  We also keep our house at 65 at nighttime.

  • We keep our house at 73 at night for Cruz because otherwise I think he would be cold.  He sleeps on fleece footed pajamas without a onsie.  He sleeps with a blanket but moves around so it gets kicked off which is why we keep the house warm.

67 seems pretty cold to me.

  • SInce it's been so cold, we too have been in the fleece footed sleepers, with a onsie underneath.  Even in the summer though, she has worn light footed sleepers or a pants and long sleeve pajamas.  I do try to put a blanket over her but it will not stay in place.

Last winter I bought a super heavy Halo Sleepsack from Hanna Anderson and she wore that one with her footed sleepers all winter.  I had some regular Halo's from BRU too that were not as warm.

I find DD sleeps better if she is not cold, but not over heated too.  Lately, since we have not turned on any heat yet for the year, she wakes up at night and fusses a bit more.  I KNOW she is cold.  I just bought a larger sleep sack and so far she has done well in that.  It's just enough to keep her toasty.  ;)

  • Ben seems to stay pretty warm.  I sleep under a down comforter with flannel PJs and Ben would probably sweat his brains out with that much.  DH throws all the covers off and wears shorts and that' it.  So everyne is different.  ;)

I've got Ben in cotton footie jammies now, or else cotton two pieces with socks.  I give him a blanket and that lasts for maybe 20 minutes I think.  :)

I'll switch him to the fleecy Carters jammies in a few weeks probably.

We started keeping our house warmer at night when Ben was born.  He was so little we really had to be sure he stayed warm.  He wore footie jammies, and was swaddled in a flannel blanket, and wore a hat.  YIKES.

73 is roasting though.  67 seems cold.  BUT, what is says on your thermostat means nothing usually.  THey can easily be "off" by 2-5 degrees.  So really, whatever feels comfortable to you.

  • DS sleeps in two piece fleece jammies right now.  He won't wear anything on his feet.  He has two small fleecy blankets that sometimes stay on him, and sometimes don't.

We keep our house at 62 at night to save energy & money.  I'm sweating just thinking about 72 - day or night!!  WOW.  :-)

  • I think this house stays cooler than others, we kept it at 70 at our old house.  But I grew up in a house where my mom kept it at 75-76 all year round so I'm used to the house being warm.
