I'm 1ht today because I slammed my thumb (of my dominant hand, of course) in the car door today.

Dez, my sister and I went downtown to enjoy the surprise 74 degree day. I had Dez all snuggle-tucked and was sliding his hat on his little bean with my left hand while closing the door with my right and BAM. You know that moment where nothing hurts yet but you know it's going to? Well that moment never lasts long enough. There I stood on a totally gorgeous day looking at my thumb from the wrong side of the car window, thinking "Awww crap. There goes my weekend." I know that sounds like an overreaction but it's not. I have a few loads of laundry to do (including CDs I was too lazy to unstuff as I went), I need to change my sheets (now delegated to DH) and I have to write 20 Bridal Shower invitations for my sister (no way I'm delegating that to Capt. Chickenscratch) and coupons to clip. Sigh. Not to mention caring for a 10-mo-old with an out of commission opposable thumb. DH was nice enough to make me breakfast for dinner, though.

OK. Pity Party over. Thanks for your sympathy!

Re: Will Someone Please Throw Me A Pity Party? :(
awwww....i'll bring the balloons....so sorry, that totally sucks! and i know, when you think you are going to accomplish so much and then you can't, you feel like poo.
i had breakfast for dinner, too!
I'll totally come to your pity party! That sucks!
Try to look at the bright side though, you get to delegate your chores to DH & anyone else (your sister who was with you maybe?) who might be able to lend you a hand (or a thumb, lol. sorry, bad joke, i had to).
I'm sorry you got hurt though. I hope you feel better soon. Try to take it easy this weekend & let your family help you
Aww, that stinks! I hope it heals quickly.
