Or "laughing gas" as pain relief during delivery...?
Anybody heard of this? I just read a book that said it's pretty popular in Europe and all over the developing world, but almost unheard of in the US
We did a natural delivery in a birthing center, and had a wonderful experience but I'm having anxiety about giving birth again (I'm not even KU, but we want to start trying again when DD is 1 yr, thinking wayyy ahead of time, I know)
Wondering if midwifes can administer and basically if anyone has any general info about it
TIA

Kind of answered some of my own questions with the above link. Wondering if anyone has ever used it, and how I might be able to find someone in my area to administer. Any ideas?
It's commonly used in Canadian hospitals as an option during birth. I used it for awhile and it definitely helped. It wasn't a complete pain relief, but it took the edge off. You breathe it in through a mask at the start of the contraction - it takes effect right away and it stops as soon as you take the mask away.
The only problem was that my mask leaked and made my DH & mom woozy!
