My head is spinning at that. Sara, did you really think that anyone was going to give you the advice you're looking for? Many of us make major sacrifices to SAH, and many choose to work because it's the right thing to do.

I don't think anyone said anything to you out of a desire to "be cool."  We were attempting to express to you exactly how unethical and, erm, illegal what you're planning to do is.  

Perhaps you didn't know that if you aren't actively looking for work, you aren't entitled to unemployment.

Perhaps it didnt' occur to you to think of the people who collect unemployment who do so because it is their only source of providing for their family while they look for work.  

Perhaps you didn't realize that given the economy we are in, you are out-of-this-world-shouldn't-be-able-to-believe-your-luck LUCKY that you have a job in the first place.  

Perhaps you didn't think that some of the people who post here are working their asses off to support their families by doing an honest day's work, whether they like their jobs or not.  Or they've been laid off for actual legitimate reasons and would give anything to get OFF of unemployment.  

Perhaps you meant to say you were looking for a severance package from your place of employment instead of actually committing unemployment fraud??!!! That is the only thing I can think of that would make your post remotely defensible.
