at 20w3d when I had my cerclage surgery I thought there was no way I could make it. Now almost four weeks later here I am hitting the 24 week mark tomorrow. Of course this was a secret goal because of viability although I would never want my baby to come at 24 weeks with the complications at that point but it's here now! It's a building block.
Next goal 28 weeks! I feel like this is a big one. Then 31. Then 34. Then 37! Once that cerclage comes out shes free to come whenever she wants after that.
What goals did or do you have and what do you feel like are your biggest ones?
Re: What are/were your goals?
My goals were/are 28w, 30w, and 36w. This week I made 28!
Congrats on 24 week! Every day/week/month counts!
Preemie ID DDs; then DS; then natural M/C; now due 10/17
High risk for pre-term: weekly Makena injections
Actually, mine started a bit earlier at 12 weeks to rule out miscarriage before the cerclage was placed. Then 18 to get to start my strict bed-rest; and then 24 for viability (this is the big one for me since I lost my son a week before).
Now, I'm hoping for 28. After that, I think once I hit the 30s- 30, 34 and 37 (when they plan to induce)- I'll be much more relaxed.
Congrats for hitting 24!
April! Can you believe we are going to be 24 weeks tomorrow? When this all happened at 19w 3d, I felt like 24 weeks was too far to even think about.
So viability (24w) was my first goal and now my next goal is 26w and also being released to home bed rest in the very near future. The doc has mentioned it a couple times, so fingers crossed!
Every day is going to be a victory from now because the curve is so steep for survival and complications in the next month or so.
First major one for me was 28 weeks, now I kinda feel that every week is a goal! I'm like, "come on 29 weeks!!" "Come on 30 weeks!!" I have a friend whose babies were born at 33 weeks and they're doing great now, so I guess thats the next BIG goal...then 36 and then 38!!
Sometimes I feel bad for wishing away this pregnancy, but its just cause I want them to be big and plump and healthy!
I have/had a million goals, 24 week, 28 weeks, 30 weeks, 32 weeks, 34 weeks 37 weeks, my b-day (1/29), valentine's day, 28 weeks 6 days (when my daughter was born), through February, my husband's b-day (3/6), my daughter b-day, first day of spring, through March, SIL's wedding shower (4/2) Easter . . . Some weeks I have several milestone in one week.
I dunno, maybe it is silly but it keeps me going.
My goals have also included staying off bedrest in addition to the birth....
so 24w was when I went on bedrest with #2, so I am happy to make that goal.
Then 28, then 32 (preterm labor week/bedrest with #1), 34, and then 36 when cerclage comes out (and #2 was born 35w5d). After that 37w I will be happy to meet baby
I'll admit, I sure am wishing it away. Until 34 weeks at least. Then It can go back to a more normal pace

My goals were 24, then 28, then 30, then 32, then 35 (only 4 more days!). My final goal is full term, which no one expected when I went on bedrest at 20w3d when my cervix started to shorten. I'm amazed we're so close to the possiblity of full term twins.
Congrats to everyone making it to 24 and 28 weeks!
I really cant believe it. It wen't by pretty fast. Heres to the next 4 weeks flying by even faster and just as boring!

Congrats on 24! It is a big deal, even though like you say, you wouldn't want baby to come now.
My goals are/were 28wks, then 2wk increments. My OB is a Peri and he loves 32wks b/c of neurological risks diminishing (not that he wants babies to come then), and then 2wk increments.
My goal was 28 weeks before insulin and I was pretty close (26).
My edd goal is 36 weeks, which is a mere 8 weeks from today. EEP! My secret goal is to have a May baby, but anytime after April 11 is going to be OK with me.
My only goal is to have my subchorionic hematoma (blood clot) heal and go away. Its taken over my life for the past 9 weeks and I cant wait to get back to some form of my normal self!
Its been tough to have goals with this pregnancy because my OB didnt prepare me for what I was dealing with. She only told me either you will heal soon or miscarry. Now its 9 weeks later. Reading other women's stories online and talking to a high risk Dr gave me more answers.
I had 24 weeker twins(only one survived), before so my goal was to get passed 24 weeks which I have now done! I was only on bedrest following my cerclage as a precaution. So now my next goal is 28 weeks and no bedrest.
I have bought so many things this week since I am now feeling much more comfortable.
