I honestly think this girl has a pretty valid reason for not coming. Creating a human being is hard work especially after working no matter how long. I mean if she had another engagement sure already committed too that is beyond her control. I know after a long days work I am super exhausted and then I have to sometimes go home and do things around my house and that makes me tired too. I don't think her not coming is her trying to hurt your feelings or say she doesn't like you or be around you. It honestly is probably too much for her. And just because she isn't coming to your shower doesn't mean you can't go to hers. If someone gave me that type of reason for not coming to my shower I wouldn't no go to their's.
I mean of course it is up to you to decide if you do or don't want to go. But I don't think it should be based off of her reason which I don't think is lame at all. At least she told you and just didn't not show up.
Am I the only one who thinks that having a baby near the same time is not really a reason to try to establish a lifelong friendship?
OP, instead of focusing one one person, with whom you aren't even close, who won't be attending, how about being happy and grateful for the people who are attending?
Re: Reason!! for no show at shower...cont'd
What's her lame excuse?

lol!
She lives three and a half hours away and has to help with the 150 cows that will be calving around then.
But if she valued our relationship, she'd totally be here and give me a gift. In person and in front of a crowd.

Right. Why is a cow more important to her than her daughter and grandchild? Disown her then make a post about it, obviously.
So, back to the original complaint:
