Rant: I POAS today.

I thought I was over peeing on ICs, especially since I had betas a week or so ago. Today the test line was LIGHTER than the control line and that freaked me out of course, since it had been way darker right before my betas. I know it doesn't mean anything, but why would it be lighter now when it was so dark before? Ugggghhh why do I do this to myself?? Now I'm just going to freak out until my U/S on Wednesday...ugh. Okay, rant over. Thanks for listening :)

Re: Rant: I POAS today.

  • Ohhhh, I'd be upset too! Only stick to digitals if you can't stop peeing on sticks.

    Also, this might help you.

    4) Why did you POAS?

  • QUIT POAS!!!  Nothing good will come of it, and it will just freak you out.

  • Stop peeing on sticks!  I did that to myself last week before my first appointment because I had a totally irrational fear that I would somehow manage to fail the pee test.  I had the same thing happen - the line was lighter than it was a few days/week before.  Well, it really doesn't mean anything.  My doctor checked my beta levels to see where I was and it was something like 29,000, so definitely still pregnant!

After you get to a certain concentration of HCG, the tests hit their limit and can't get any darker.  They are only designed to detect within a certain concentration, not when you get into the thousands.  Plus, each test has a different level of dye to bind to the lines.  Step away from the pee sticks.

  • Throw any tests you have left at home away. I know it is tempting to keep peeing, but at this point, your doctor is doing all of the confirmation tests you need.
  • Hugs, Kara! I have still been POAS too so I can relate. I need to stop. Chances are, everything was just a bit more dilute than last time.

Are you still having spotting? Mine came back a bit but the last couple days I have been clear.

Thanks for the thoughts! I haven't spotted at all since my 4 days a week and a half ago....I'm hoping it stays away and that everything looks good on my U/S wednesday!
