I could have kissed a stranger!

Yesterday DW and I went to the zoo to take advantage of the beautiful weather. We pulled into a parking spot just after another car and both got out. Ann got the storller out of the car while I was unbuckling Ky. As I walked to the trunk area of the car I overheard the following conversation between the mom and her son (maybe 3) from the car next to us:

Boy: Is that two mommies with a baby?

Mom: Yes it is.

Boy: So there is no daddy?

Mom: Nope, no daddy. Just two mommies with their baby.

Boy: Okay

I wanted to run up to the lady and tell her how wonderful and meaningful that conversation was for me to hear. Just the casual way she discussed it with her son and made it no big deal was amazing to me. I really wish everyone could be as accepting as that little boy and that all grown ups could be so nonchalant as the mother.
