Cloth Diapering

BIG mistake!

I have been refusing to look at all the GM stuff so I wouldn't get caught up in the hype. I don't have the time, patience, or money to get into it. But, I decided to take a quick look today to see what it's all about...and there's my big mistake! Those dipes are so cute, I think I might die if I don't have some!

So... how does it all work? What is this "stalking" I've heard about?

I've heard they are super absorbant, so do they still need covers? Why would anyone want to cover a cute little tushie in those adorable GM prints?

How do you rationalize spending $40 on a diaper? The biggest reason I was able to get DH on board with CDing is to save money. He would kill me if I started spending that much! Are they really so amazing that the price is worth it?

Maybe I should just pretend I never saw anything and go back to my normal life. I'll pretend it was just a dream...

I can't rationalize it.  No matter how well a diaper fits or how much I love a print I can't see spending more than $25 (including shipping!).  And that's a stretch.  The most expensive I've bought was a Monkey Snuggles for like $24 including shipping and I won't do that again unless I have a lot of pay pal to spare.

  • I don't, I buy them off Spots and I haven't paid more than about $20. I have 4 and I love them. I also have a few Piddle Poodles that I love and they are a bit more reasonable. They do need a cover, unless you get a GM One but around the house we let him run around w/out a cover so he gets some air.

  • They're fairly absorbent, but not the most absorbent fitted out there.

I like them primarily for the cute prints & resale value. It's nice to know that if you don't like something you ordered or get sick of it you can sell it easily.

We use them for naps, but they're not enough for overnight (we use Sbish magic diaper or a FB stuffed with a few hemp inserts). Around the house, DD is coverless for the most part and we change her every hour or two when she gets damp.

When out and about, we use pockets, AI2s or AIOs (same for daycare). GMs are just for home. :-)

  • We like them and yes super absorbent-so much so that some don't put covers on them if they are at home. Now are they worth $40, well something is worth what someone will pay. I also like piddle poddles and hers are only $20.

Stalking means you sit at your computer hitting F5 until the diaper shows up with a buy button which you quickly push and try to get to the pay pal check out page before someone else snags it out of your cart. For me it's like buying concerts tickets the morning they go onsale-trying to get the best seat before they sell out. Last week a print sold out in like 5 seconds-for real!

  • So... how does it all work? What is this "stalking" I've heard about?    *She will give you a heads up on when stocking should start.  You go to her website https://shop.thegoodmama.com/  create a account and then when she list, make sure you are super fast! *I've heard they are super absorbant, so do they still need covers? Why would anyone want to cover a cute little tushie in those adorable GM prints?*I never use a cover, and if I do I use wool.  Never had any issues.* How do you rationalize spending $40 on a diaper? The biggest reason I was able to get DH on board with CDing is to save money. He would kill me if I started spending that much! Are they really so amazing that the price is worth it?  *The one size you will be able to use for a good while, and will get your $40 worth.  Plus if you take good care of them, the resell value is nice.  If you are not to sure about spending that much, try Spots or Diaperswappers. *Maybe I should just pretend I never saw anything and go back to my normal life. I'll pretend it was just a dream...*Good luck on that Stick out tongue*  Edit:  Also, try Twinkie Tush!  Not only are they $10 cheaper, but IMO they are more absorbent.
