I think we are going to tell our parents tonight! DH wants to wait, but my mom and I are super close and not telling her is absolutely KILLING ME!

Will it be weird to tell our parents but not our sibs?? DH's sister in law has a huge mouth and once she finds out, there will be no stopping her...

We told both sets of parents last weekend...I wasnt even 5 weeks yet. If you think the parents wont tell the sister then go for it! I dont think its weird to tell parents but not sibs. Good luck and have fun sharing the news!

Do what makes you feel comfortable. I'm 6 weeks and told my parents and sisters the night I found out. We're also telling our friends. If you feel comfortable I say go for it, but if not don't. Ultimately it's up to you.

I don't think that's weird :-)  I think our plan is to tell the parents but not our siblings at first.  First u/s is on Tuesday so maybe next weekend???  My SIL has a humongous mouth and for that matter my MIL kinda does too, but I'm gonna put the screws to her and make her keep her lips zipped :-)  I'd want her to know if anything happened, just don't want the public audience at every family gathering if I m/c... Fingers crossed that all goes well when you spread the news, I bet your busting at the seams!!

I don't think so. Last time we only told my mom and no one else. Not my dad or even his parents. This time we're waiting on telling anyone.

DH cracked and told his parents and brother on Sunday. We're seeing my parents and sister in mid-March, when I'm about 9 weeks, and planning to tell them, then.

My MIL is the mouth in our world. We told everyone last time.  This time, keeping it a secret for another month or two if we can!

We told my parents the day I got a BFP - they knew we were doing IVF so they were expecting news one way or another. I just told my sister today and we are telling DH's dad this weekend. Our rule is for now we are only telling people that we would want support from if the worst happened. I will get another u/s in 2 weeks and if all looks good we will probably start telling more familiy then we'll let the world know after the 1st tri.

It's a lot harder to keep it a secret than I thought it would be. I seriously want to tell everyone. But it's kind of fun to spread it out and tell people slowly, I love seeing their reactions!

This.  While it sucks to have to un-tell people if you experience a loss, it's also comforting (or was to me at least) to have people that love me rally around.  There are no rules to telling or not telling, it's all up to you!!  With all 3 of my pregnancies I have told my mom within 30 minutes of the BFP!  Haha

My strategy is to go ahead and tell anyone that I would want to be there for me if anything bad were to happen, so BFF and mom would be on my list. We do not tell MIL until the last possible moment because she has a blabbing problem. I was hoping I could hide it until I actually go into the hospital to deliver, I guess that is pushing it huh?  I might tell my mom this weekend since she is watching DS for us and I will see her in person. I am bad at hiding things from her.

DH and I just ran to Costco and bought the most adorable girl sleeper. (Girl because our sibs all have only boys, we have 9 nephews! So we are praying for girl vibes) First off let me say I broke down sobbing once we got out of the store. Just imagining my child in that little sleeper put me overboard!

We are going to see each of our parents tonight, and going to put the sleeper in a cute little gift bag and give it to mom, telling her we got her a little gift. Then she will open it and cry her eyes out Then we will do the same with MIL. I'm so excited!!!

We told our parents and siblings... and just about everyone else the day we got the BFP! I couldn't keep it in. ) Good luck!

I've only told a few close friends. I'm debating on when to tell my mom. My MIL I'm not too worried about, but my mom will run off and tell everyone I'm sure. I don't think she can keep a secret. lol I'm having lunch with her on Sunday and it's going to be so hard not to tell!

We told my parents the day I got the BFP because there both super excited and supportive.  DH's family are very critical and know about my losses.  They don't even think we should be trying let alone pregnant right now so were waiting to tell them until atleast the first u/s!

I told my Mom almost immediately! We're planning to tell the ILs this weekend.  I agree with the idea of telling those you would likely want support from if things went south... Both DH and I have told a friend in confidence, and our first appt, isn't until next week.
