My LO finally made her appearance (6 days late) on Friday, 2-11-11. I had a great birthing experience and must say that epidurals are a gift from GOD!
Since then though I feel like a walking zombie. It's starting to get a bit better, but I've resorted to sleeping with my LO. I really don't want to get into this habit but I need sleep and it seems to be the only way I can get it for 2-3 hours at a time. I just got a breast pump and am hoping to be able have bottles available so DH can help with feedings and I can finally get some sleep!
So who else is feeling like a zombie? What are you doing to cope?
Re: Zombie Check-in!
How am I coping? By letting my older two help me out when they can and watching movies!
I resorted to co-sleeping for a short while too, it was the only (and I mean ONLY) way she'd sleep for more than an hour at night. When we found out she'd sleep for 4-5 hours at night in our arms, we were like, SIGN ME UP! But we've slowly gotten her used to sleeping in a bouncer/swing in the day, and then when we were sure she'd sleep in the swing we tried the swing at night and it worked. Next, we're going to get her used to sleeping in it while not rocking, and then move her to the cradle. It took us a few days to adjust her to not being held (and not screaming) but the trick for us was to make sure she was 100% knocked out before putting her down. Maybe trying the same for you would help? I have nothing against co-sleeping, but it made me uncomfy to sleep with her.
