Formula Questions

If you read my previous post, you will know I am struggling with BFing... more mentally than physically.  I have never been around a formula fed baby so I have some questions about it.  I think most moms on here BF, but I hope I can still get some answers.

1.  What kind of formula do you use?  If we make the switch, I have a stock pile of Similac coupons.  I know every baby is different and will need a different formula, but I'd like to hear opinions on different brands.

2. Does formula give your baby tummy/gas/poo troubles?  I know that FF babies have different dirty diapers than BF babies, but once again I have only been around BF babies.

3. Do FF babies gain weight faster than BF babies?  Or vice versa?  Not that it matters, just something I was wondering.

4.  How often to FF babies need to eat?  Does your FF baby sleep better at night? (We have been giving DS some formula right before bed and he seems to sleep for a longer stretch of time)

 

Thanks for any answers/opinions/recommendations you can give me.  This is such a difficult decision and I am not deciding one way or another until I have educated myself completely on both sides.
