I had long hair for a long time. I chopped it to the Posh bob and wore it like that for about 3 years. DH at first was like, wow, it is super short. But he loved it and said it captured my personality much better than my long hair. I'm growing it out again, and it's to my shoulders. I'd be very hesitant to cut it that short again, as I started growing it out last March and I'm just now at my shoulders.
unless your hair is unkempt, I think any length is appropriate at any age. As long as its healthy and looks good, rock on with your long hair, grandma!
Mine is in between short and medium ( just above my shoulders). I had it long for 2 years and it looked great, but my shorter style is way more stylish and flattering.
Mine is in between medium and long. Longer than my shoulders, but not much longer than that.
This exactly. It's actually short for me. I typically wear my hair down to around my shoulder blades, but with a baby that's just not practical. Incidentally, I am in desperate need of coloring my hair. I have so much grey, and the post-pregnancy hair regrowth is sticking straight up in the air because some of it is that wiry grey stuff. Not cute.

I turned 40 in Dec and cut my mid back length long hair to between my chin and shoulders in Jan and I love it. I ahve thick curly hair and have always worn it someplace between where it is now and mid back and I love it both ways. I think a lot has to do with how you style it - I wore it longer when I just didn't have as much time to style it so that I could easily pull it up or use a headband, etc (whatever was the latest style). I am back to a point in life where I can take 10 extra mins in the morning and do my hair nice (blow it out and straghten it). I can still wear it curly and it looks cute.
Re: Now I'm curious... hair poll
