Balance Check In

One of the 7 B's of AP is Balance. From Dr. Sears:

"In your zeal to give so much to your baby, it's easy to neglect the needs of yourself and your marriage. As you will learn the key to putting balance in your parenting is being appropriately responsive to your baby ? knowing when to say "yes" and when to say "no," and having the wisdom to say "yes" to yourself when you need help."

What have you done to maintain balance this past week?

Re: Balance Check In

  • I've been off work since Thursday. As mentioned in a pp, I've been put on STD for severe PPD.

I've been doing better this week. I started taking a B Complex (double dose for the week, regular dose starting next week), & it seems to be really helping. My doctor also wrote me an RX for Lexapro, but wanted me to try the B Complex 1st with some exercise as he thinks its highly likely I'm deficient given my diet restrictions. I was going to just start on the Lexapro, but one dose = bad side effects so I decided to wait.

Anyway, it's been a pretty good week, although I haven't got to get as much exercise as I'd like. Next week I'm going to fix that though.

  • We had a crazy week - lots of sickness, but lots of chances to enlist help, which I finally did.

I went home from work last Wednesday, and by the time I got home, I was running a pretty good fever.  I had Thursday off, and slept.  I was feeling much better by the evening, and so, Friday I headed back into work.

I hadn't been there an hour before DC called, they thought Ella had pinkeye.  So, I went to get her to take her to the doc.

I knew it wasn't pinkeye as soon as I saw her, and the doc confirmed that she has another ear infection. However, we did get a referral to see an ENT specialist.

I was wiped when we got home - I think I had pushed myself too much too soon, so I called MIL and she came over and entertained Ella for a few hours while I slept (again).

The weekend was spent doing not much but getting better.

We enlisted MIL again on Valentines Day and had a dinner just the 2 of us, which hadn't happened in a long while.

  • Looking forward to this weekend

    A) no MIL this weekend (that in itself is a great thing)

    B) 3 day weekend

    C) Monday I have a ME day!!!!

That's my balance for the week, but, today I am going to get my brows done afterwork, that always makes me feel better.
