Speaking of ergo, infant insert too warm for summer?

I got one of the babysteals ergos, but I'm thinking that I might skip the infant insert. I'm due in May, so it will likely be hot while the baby is too small for the Ergo without it.

Guessing a light wrap or sling would be a better choice? I saw the summer reccs below.

I found that it was way too warm for the Ergo until around September - DS was born in May.  We have the insert and I never used it until DS was around 4months.  The little pillow in the bottom of the insert was a nice boost for DS because he was a little too short, so I am glad that we bought it even though we didn't use it right away.
