October 2011 Moms

Nauseous and hungry at the same time?

The last two days I have been feeling so nauseated, yet hungry at the same time.  So what do I do?  Eat, of couse!  I feel like a bottomless pit.  It's barely 11:00 and I just ate carrots with spinach dip, and a few hunks of cheddar cheese.  Not to mention my bowl of cereal this morning and my once-daily can of coke.  I seriously thought if I didn't eat something I would yack.  Anyone else?  Never really felt like this with my first pregnancy.

Oh, and I guess I should (cautiously) introduce myself.  We go tomorrow for our first ultrasound and I'm scared to death we won't see anything.  We had betas already and they rose well, but I'm still worried.  I guess we'll see tomorrow morning.  Hello October mommies and good luck to everyone!

  • Story of my life. I'm a bottomless pit, mostly to avoid feeling ill.

  • Welcome to the group!  Yes I know exactly what you mean, if I get too hungry that's when my nausea seems to start to sneak in.  That's how it was with DS as well, so I'm glad to be having similar symptoms!

  • Yup, I have sort of a low-level nausea pretty constantly, and I'm hungry pretty constantly too.  I have to force myself to eat b/c of the nausea, which of course gets worse when I let myself get too hungry. Tongue Tied

Can't believe a tiny blueberry-sized thing can totally change my eating habits (and has been since appleseed size!), but here we are.

  • I had two days of nausea earlier. In just the last two days I have been beyond sick. I am going to need to buy stock in Canada Dry.

I am trying to hold off on lunch today. I already ate the bread and the grapes out of my lunchbox.

  • Yep!  I felt like that all of last week into this week.  Now, I'm started to lose my appetite (or have for a bit this morning).

Pregnancy is so weird!  But I love it.

  • yup! and if I don't eat right away then I really do get sick, ugh!

I thought I was the only one to eat cheddar chunks! DH thought I was crazy but it tastes sooooo good.

  • I find that that hungrier I am, the more nauseous I am.  I've started to keep a little baggie of cereal by my bed and eat a little every time I wake up during the night and some before I get up in the morning.

  • That's how I felt during my entire 1st trimester with my son! I gained 10 lbs my first tri, but the food was distracting from the nausea and I wanted to eat! My weight gain leveled off and eventually I had to eat more my 3rd tri just to keep up! Your body knows what it needs. Welcome! :)
