We are on every 3 hours schedule right now, but I feel so bad waking up my girls to eat, esp in the middle of the night! It seems like we should feed them when they want to... What was your experience?
At 4 weeks we stopped waking them up every 3 hours at night. At 6 weeks we stopped waking them up at night when their sister woke up.
But we kept feeding them every three hours during the day for months. And even when we finally moved away from every three hours we still don't do in on demand. We have set times (with some wiggle room) for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks.
at 6 weeks adjusted we let them sleep as long as they could after their 10pm bottle. ?we now are on a 4 hour schedule (bottles at 7am, 11am, 3pm, and 7pm, with breakfast, lunch, and dinner between).
We started out on a 3 hour schedule no matter what, but I have slowly changed to 4 hours early in the day and then 3 hours later on to fill their bellies and help them sleep better. ?We now eat at Midnight, 4, 8, 12, 3, 6, 9.
i stopped waking them for feedings throughout the night around 6 weeks adjusted i think. but, we still stayed on the every 3 hours schedule during the day, their bottles just got bigger!
Thank ladies for all of your responces! I know my babies are waaaaay too young to do on-demand feedings, but I like the longer night stretches/on demand during the night with every 3 hours during the day! Seems so much easier! Thanks!
