Does anyone know why they discontinued the bugaboo frog?

I am trying to determine if I should consider the frog given the slashed prices.

  • The frog and the cameleon are almost the same, the cameleon has a newer suspencion, an expandable handlebar and folds to slightly different dimensions. I think they decided to stop the frog because there's not much point in having two of almost the same stroller.

I've been given the opportunity to get a second hand frog for a good price. As I don't care that much about the differences I'm taking it.

There is nothing wrong with the Frog, but they just are coming out with a new stroller, the Donkey and they probably decided that having 2 strollers virtually the same (Cam and Frog) and then this new stroller the Donkey was too much.

I have the Frog, I bought mine brand new in 2009 when my son was born and LOVE it.

My friend has a Cam which I have pushed and honestly there isn't any difference in the push or handling of the stroller.  The Cam has a few more features to it, but to be honest they are not that fabulous of features to go out and spend the extra $$$. It has an adjustable suspension which my friend doesn't even use and you can buy different colored canopys and seat inserts.  But here is a little unknown fact, the Cam canopys and seat inserts fit the Frog.  I use them on mine, yes they are slightly larger but unless you are really looking you would never know.

If you can get a deal on a Frog go for it!!!  You will not regret it.  I use mine all the time, it is my favorite item of baby gear I have.  It is worth it.

  • like others have said above there is nothing wrong with the stroller they are just doing away with it because they already have a similiar stroller called the cameloen and will be introducing the donkey this year (a double stroller)

This is exactly why. The Chameleon is just an upgraded Frog.
