Do you itemize? I got a "warning" on the tax software saying that the IRS wasn't accepting returns if you itemize until "mid-February" because of tax changes made so late in 2010. It's mid-February now, they are all done and we are getting a refund so I'd LOVE to file them ASAP!

I know our accountant was holding ours until sometime this week before filing because of that very reason. Not sure when he'll actually file them, but he had them done about two weeks ago. We're getting a refund too.

We itemize and have not been able to file yet (although I have not tried in the last week or so). it is because the Bush tax cuts were extended at the 11h hour. The IRS is scrambling to make changes related to the extension of those cuts.

We itemize and ours were accepted today (after having checked and not being there yesterday). They are accepting them now. Feb. 14 was the official date.

How do you "try" to file? We'll e-file. Do you just get a notice (email, whatever) saying the IRS has not accepted your return--and then try again later?

I just meant I got the same message. And I haven't logged in to see if that message is still there or not lately. Sounds like if the PPer is right then you will be able to file them now.
