My sleep post from a few days ago (or like a week now, the days are blurring together) Just wanted to say thanks for this. You're a rockstar and I really appreciate it.

"I went through something similar with DD. It was just a matter of time and I am sorry to tell you it took several months. Once she was about 3 or so months old it wasn't as much of a struggle to get her back down but the first few months were torturous. Like with you it took about 45 minutes or so before she would go back to sleep. I spent many nights sitting on her floor exhausted rocking with her. But it did end and she did go to sleep easily after feedings eventually. I can offer you some hope though. From day one baby #2 has gone back down with no trouble. Maybe you'll be as lucky the second time around.

I think for both your sanity you need DH's help with this. There is no need for you to be up all night and exhausted if he somehow has the gift of putting baby back down. Even if he doesn't have the gift it is everyone's best interest to spread the pain around imo. You shouldn't have to do it by yourself and it gives your H a special parenting thing that is his strength and domain."

You're welcome. I don't how much help I could have been but sometimes it's a relief to know others have been there too. I hope you guys find something that works for your family. It's just miserable to go without sleep. But really, don't feel like you have to be superwoman and do it yourself - let your H help you. It's his baby too! Good luck!
