Prednisone side effects

DD was put on prednisone yesterday for a croup like cough.  She was on this about a month ago along with an antibiotic for bronchitis.  The side effects were AWFUL!!!  She was miserable, was constantly peeing and pooping (diarrhea), always very hungry/thirsty and had really rosy red cheeks.  The doc told me yesterday that it was probably the combination of the two.  Well within two hours after just the first dose she is having the same exact side effects.  The information packet that the pharmacy gave me really lists none of these side effects.  Has anyone here used this for their child and if so, what were the side effects that he or she experienced?  TIA!

    Yes. All of the above. Ds had it for 3 days last week for croup and had every symptom you described. Plus complete meltdowns and uncontrollable mood swings.

    My son acts horrible on this medicine. Mean, violent and he won't eat. But the meds work...
