Another ring sling question...

Thanks for all of the help yesterday on slings.  I have been doing a lot of research and browsing and have found a Sweet Pea double linen sling with a redone SBP shoulder that I like.  I know that these slings are less than the SB ones, but I am not sure on the price of a used one with a redone shoulder.  Would anyone mind advising me if $55 is a reasonable price for such a sling?  Thanks again, I truly appreciate all of the advice!

  • I'm not familiar with that brand, but I paid $65 for my Maya.

  • Was your Maya used by chance?  I just want to make sure this is on target for a used sling.  I think I might just go for it because I really love the look of it.  Smile
  • Mine was new. If the one you're looking at is good quality, consider it an investment. You'll use it so much, you have to look at the cost per use, not the cost up front.

  • Good point!  I just wish I knew someone that has tried or even seen a Sweet Pea sling in person because I have not.  It definitely appears to be good quality, but it is difficult to know for sure without seeing in person, kwim?  All I know is that it is double layer reversible Italian linen.  Sounds good, right?!  Wink  I also wonder if the shoulder redo adds to the value since so many swear by the SBP shoulder...but from what I am reading that is just a personal preference.
  • They make some really pretty slings.

According to Jan Andrea of SBP in order for her to make a double-layer linen sling it'll cost $35-$40 for two colors of the appropriate linen, plus $30 for her to sew it.  I've always found her prices to be very reasonable.  Here's the link.

And like PP said,  you can always resell.  If you're already buying used you can normally resell it for almost the same price you paid so you're only out shipping.

  • It sounds like this is pretty reasonable then.  I think I might just do it.  Thanks again for the advice!
