Does he know/care DH is gone?

He wouldn't nap in his crib for me today (he did for the sitter this morning) and tonight he has already been up 5 times in 2 hours?  Usually I can just put his paci back in and pat his back, but I'm having to rock him back to sleep everytime.  We're only on night 2 of DH's week out of town.  I actually enjoyed my solo baby/mommy time today, but I can see 24/7 of holding Coop for all sleep getting old quick when I'm all by myself (especially since I usally work from 6-9 every night).

He's not even 6 months old, I'm not stressed (anymore), do you think it could be DH being out of town or something else?

*it could be teeth, on the verge of crawling, or hopefully not another ear infection (he has been coughing a little and has a stuffy nose)

I would just put him in bed with me, but he has started rolling/crawling/moving all over the place and he can't roll over as easily in my bed and gets ticked off quickly when he trys to flip on his tummy

  • it could be that your hubby isn't around. babies can pick up on changes in their environment. or it may just be him doing his baby thing... my LO will sttn, and then randomly start waking up again. babies are weird.

  • DD and I have traveled twice without DH and she slept horribly both times. A few weeks ago we were in FL and I would spend at least an hour each night trying to get her to go to bed. One night I was talking to DH on speaker phone while nursing her down. She fell right to sleep and slept the best that night out of the entire week.

I think she missed her father.

It could be anything, really. But my Lo is a crappy sleeper now-a-days so what do I know!

Just a word of warning about the speaker phone - DH putme on speaker phone once when I was at work and after I hung up LO screamed for 45 minutes. DH thinks it was because she couldn't find me.

Good luck with the rest of your week. I spent 4 days alone with my LO when she was 5.5 months and it went by fast. Exhausting, but fast. There were a few times where I just put her in her swing and had to compose myself, but for the most part I took it one hour at a time and it was great.
