Ok ladies I am almost ready to take the plunge and start searching for deals on diapers. I've pretty much decided to allow myself to recover and transition into motherhood using disposable for the first couple weeks (just easier for DH and visitors--plus I've heard the OS can be a bit big for a newborn).
I read the FAQ reviews of diapers, but I feel like there's a lot more out there now. Which brand do you recommend?
Also do you think the 2 inserts like bumGenius has are better than the ones that just come with one insert?
TIA
Re: Best One-Size Diaper
Even my Kawaii's came with 2 inserts.
I love each of my pocket diapers for different reasons. My BG 4.0's snaps are my nighttime diapers, I double stuff with the newborn insert and the large one and have had no leaking problems.
My happy heiny's really fit the best, and those came with 2 inserts.
And my Kawaii's are my go to daycare diapers. For 7.95 I am not worried if they get ruined. I just stuff them with 1 insert since they change him every 2 hours and I have had no problems.
Not sure that is helpful hehe but thats my pocket stash
Thanks, it definitely helps
HOnestly, it will depend on your kid. My favorites are Blueberry, Happy Heinys and BumGenius. I also like my Softbums. My DD is chunky with fat thighs.
Different diapers fit different babies differently.
I'd really recommend trying something for the newborn phase like prefolds and fitteds (I love fitteds+ covers for newborns) and then buying a variety of one-sizes to try out and see what fits your baby best. We used disposables until the cord fell off, then our newborn stash for the next 4-6 weeks. However, DD outgrew her newborn diapers faster than most babies -- she was 14 pounds at her 2 month check-up.
