Can you use vicks vaposteam in a cold humidifier?

I just went to use it and noticed that it says it's for hot steam :( I want to help DS's cough tonight :(

    I researched the same a while ago and found out you can't use any additives in cool mist humidifers...I can't remember why, though.

    Childhood cancer (DH) + chemo + radiation = 0 sperm.
    LO #1 - 1 unmedicated/self-monitored IUI w/ donor sperm.
    LO #2 - 1 m/c, 2 BFNs, 4th IUI worked (unmedicated/self-monitored with new donor sperm).
    Life is beautiful!

    We have a warm mist vaporizer but I put the baby Vicks in the top holder.  We were told not to use the Vaposteam until they are at least 2.

    This. We bought it, used it one night, I mentioned it to the nurse and she said do not use it., he's way too young.
