Re: Bed-Rest Mamas Daily Check-In ~ MONDAY ~

  • Good morning mamas!

QOTD:  The most memorable V-day I can think of was my sr year of college when DH and I were "in between" dating, and he called me offering to serenade me with a guitar out of my dorm window so that I would come over.  He and a good friend of ours had been drinking tequila, so he was drunk and it was actually hilarious.  I completely turned him down though, telling him (while laughing) that I was not his late night booty-call.  We were back together two months later, but it still cracks me up to this day.

UPDATES:  Spent an hour in L&D Saturday night because my blood pressure was 140/100 for several hours at home and I couldn't get it down.  It dropped while at the hospital, but shot right back up when they took it sitting up.  But, my urine came back fine and it stabilized so they sent me home thank goodness.  I felt like crap all day yesterday, but I have an appointment tomorrow so we will follow up.  I think I have hit the point where it is creeping up and staying up.

Hope everyone eats some nice chocolates or has their DH cook them a good dinner!!!

  • QOTD:  Can't really say that I've had a super memorable V-day, except the one where my awesome college boyfriend jumped on his buddies' scavenger hunt plans for their girlfriends.  Meaning he didn't do any of the planning he was just like, oh can we join?  Then at the end of the night he drank too much wine, I had to drive us home and then take care of him in the dorms.  It was grrrrrrrrreat!  (sensing the scarcasm?)

My hubby is a wonderful romantic, but I can't say that any of our past plans really jumps out at me and that doesn't bother me, so I guess its all good!  I don't really give Valentines day a whole lot of thought/credit.

Updates: So if any of you recall I'm doing my bedrest sentence at a family friend's house.  DH had to fly home yesterday (tear) but my good friend is flying in today to stay for a week!  Yay!!  It will be so fun to see her....I'm a little nervous about her waiting on me, (who wants their friends to wait on them?)  but she has already come up with a meal plan and everything and sounds excited to do it.  Guess I'll swallow my pride and go with it.

    Happy Valentine's Day Everyone!

  • Happy Valentine's Day, everyone!

QOTD - Preggo brain has taken over, coupled by anxiety - and I can't think right now - maybe later I'll post a good one!

Update - Leaving shortly to head to the OB for a squeezed in check up - had (TMI - sorry) discharge over the weekend, the snot like stuff, and I haven't been having that.  So I called and talked to a nurse at the OB today and she squeezed us in to get a check up.  Fingers are crossed its just because I was on my feet a hair more than I should have this weekend (my parents were here and painted our nursery, it's beautiful!).

Nothing I can think of. I can say though, whenever my H plans something special, it always goes wrong....lol!! I think its adorable that he tries, but it hardly ever works out in his favor.....

  • Congratulations lampkins on your little one!  I hope he has a short an uneventful NICU stay!

QOTD:  Not really that I can think of, unless you count dinners at the Melting Pot, which I love.  DH is really awesome at surprising me with romantic things (trips to Vegas, front row tics to see Prince, etc) but they don't seem to fall on V-Day.

Updates:  Had a good day yesterday.  Not many contractions, I think only around 30 or so.  Liam is so playing kick-ball with my cervix though this morning and it's bugging like crazy.  5 more days and I'm off bed rest... the count down begins... yipee!

  • Updates: I have a NST tomorrow morning.  I'm hoping all goes well.  My next goal of 32 weeks is also tomorrow so I'm excited to still be here and pregnant.

QOTD:  This will likely be my most memorable Valentine's Day.  When I was admitted back on January 3rd, I hoped and prayed my twins would stay in until at least Valentine's Day and here I am.

  • mrsdjm07 (Heather): So based on your bed-rest recommendations, are you instructed to lie down all the time and not sit up at all?

devinjonesrn (Devin): It's great that your friend can stay with you and help you out. I hope you get to see your hubby soon.

aschleser (Anastasia): I hope what you saw means nothing serious. Let us know how your appt. turns out. That's awesome at how your nursery is coming along!

ajza224 (Ajza):  That's funny but sweet!

tasilva923 (Alisha): In less than a week you'll have more freedom...yay!

Family hopes (Sam): 32 weeks tomorrow is super!

You girls are doing very well.

    Question of the Day:

I don't buy into the V-Day celebration that much but the most memorable one I would have to say is the first one I spent with my now H. He had prepared a very simple meal (and I'll have you know that my H is not a cook) of green beans (canned), seasoned roasted potato wedges and broiled steak in his college dorm. Bear in mind, that's awesome for a college student on a tight budget! The meal was tasty... I'll never forget.

    UPDATES:

Well, provided all goes well, this will be the longest I would have not left my home. I see my peri every two weeks and ordinarily, I would be seeing my ob/gyn every two weeks but they told me to come back in four weeks at the last appointment. So since I don't have an appointment this week, two weeks will have passed before I walk out those doors again.

Nutmeg, cilantro, sage, mint, thyme... these are a few of my favorite things! Visit The Nest!Visit The Nest! We have four children; one left us too soon.
  • Update: I'm starting steroid shots today. The peris are concerned that with my rapidly rising BPs that I'll be delivering the twins within the next week. FX that I can keep them cooking longer than that!

QOTD: No real memorable Valentine's Day to share :( But I was able to get my DH a gift, even from bedrest and he has no idea. I can't wait to surprise him when he gets here!

  • Buggles:  I have an appointment tomorrow and my Dr will tell me what is next.  The on call doc didn't tell me anything specific besides to keep taking it easy, so I will know what the new deal is tomorrow.  Unfortunately, my BP still hates me today, so who knows.  I did make it a month further before having major BP issues this time than I did with DD, and that is probably because of the bed rest, albeit for PTL instead of the BP.  Can't win for losing!!

But I did get up long enough today to make a one-bowl chocolate cake that looks like a giant brownie with peanut butter frosting.  I want to eat.it.all.

  • QOTD: I can't really remember any memorable Valentine's Day...although hubby surprised me with flowers, a bear, and a card this morning. This is our typical VDay...except normally I get him one of those big cards and well...he didn't get one...I may have a friend get me one and drop it by later...we'll see.

Updates: Well it must be in the water with BP...mine spiked Saturday right before I was to take my meds, so I took my meds, laid down and thankfully it went down. I did get sick on Saturday too (but that's on me...DH left and we were having company so I wiped the toilet down in the bathroom and apparently that was just too much for my body to handle...not looking forward to telling doc that one, sorry I was out of bed but I felt the need to clean a toilet...haha). Hopefully all goes well with my doctor appointments this week!!

  • Thanks for the welcome!

QOTD: I've never really had an "out there" Valentine's Day - nice ones, sure, but nothing that stands out. This morning, my husband got me up and showed me the entire kitchen table covered with boxes of candy! It was hilarious - a joke, because he just bought a brand new, very large television, and I had teased him that my Valentine's candy better be a comparable size.

Updates: I've got nothing today. I have a check up tomorrow, where we'll get to find out about my comparison blood work and also the results of my 3 hour glucose test, which I hope is good, or else a lot of nurses are going to be very happy with a lot of candy!

On bed rest since Groundhog's Day and every day since has been exactly the same.
