GD mommas- what is your testing time/goal numbers? Everyone seems to have dif. #s!

Hello mommas, I am also fighting the GD fight & sympathize with all of us :) This is my 2nd GD pregnancy & my 1st time posting on this board.

I've noticed everyone seems to have varied techniques on testing, which is to be expected as we all have diff. docs :) 

Just curious what yours are! The testing 2 hours after meals ladies are lucky! :D If there is such a thing with GD ;)

 

I am to test one hour from the last bite of food

Fasting goal: below 90

After meals: below 130

  • Fasting: below 90

    1 hour after meals: below 140

    My instructions are to test 1 hour after first bite of food, not last.

    Just an FYI, when I was seeing an Endo she wanted my numbers below 120 at one hour after meals.  My OB was pissed that she put me on insulin just for being over 120 after breakfast for 2-3 days so now I am just seeing my Peri for GD monitoring.  He is much less strict than the Endo was and I stopped losing weight (which was happening pretty rapidly when I was still with the Endo) and also stopped spilling ketones into my urine.

  • I have to be under 100 for fasting and under 130 an hour after I begin eating.

  • Under 95 fasting (but I have my own goal of being under 90 when the educator told me some practioners want it under 90) and then I test 2 hours from the first bite at meals and they want it under 120.

    fasting = "around 90"

    I test after each meal, before bed, and fasting. I'm also supposed to test if I get up in the middle of the night to pee, but sometimes skip this

    Just started insulin this past week ... up to this point, I'd been on glyburide.

    1 hr. after the START of eating, <130.

     Those were the dietician's directions. My OB said under 140 was acceptable.  

  • I test first thing in the morning and it has to be under 90, and then an hour after I first start eating, it has to be under 120.  It ends up being 4 times a day, because I don't have to test after snacks or before bed.
