Who pays the salaries of the Senate and Reps?  Is it the state they are from or the Federal Government?  If it is the Fed why can't they cut the pay and make them live off the average salary of the rest of the US?  I know on average Nashville families live off of $35,000ish a year. That is my debate for the night.

Federal government; they vote themselves pay raises.

And the reason the gov't won't make them live on an average salary is precisely because they make the laws, including the ones related to their own salaries and perks.

So to sum this up.  The jack asses who expect the US to pay back the debt they are helping cause, live off  almost nothing, and pay them to live lavish and make the rules on what the get paid. Nice.

I don't know if they should all be paid the average. There are a lot that try to do some good out there and it's not an easy job, but I do see your point.
