TTC After a Loss 6 Months+

Lupron

I'm starting Lupron tonight and I have a question that I forgot to ask my nurse. When I first started injects for my IUIs, she told me to let the Gonal-F and Ovidrel warm up to room temp before injecting them. Does the same apply for Lupron? Do you inject it straight from the fridge or let it sit out and warm up a little first?

Re: Lupron

  • I injected it straight from the fridge. It did burn a little so I iced the area before I injected it. Good luck! So exciting!

  • I would let it warm up a little. My dr's office never had me put my lupron in the fridge.

  • You don't have to refridgerate lupron - in fact I am not sure you are supposed to, I have heard different things on that.  My box says to store at 68-77 degrees.

The only med I have to refridgerate is follistim.

Weird... my pharmacy put on the label to refrigerate it (and they highlighted it lol).

Mine did too- did you happen to use Mandells? I THINK it may have something to do with the fact that you are reusing it, maybe it's to prevent bacteria from growing in it or something. I kept it in the fridge and it worked just fine, didn't affect my suppression. But if you're concerned you can ask your RE on Monday.

No label on mine about refridgerating - so strange.  I got mine from Walgreens specialty pharmacy.  I was suppressed too.

If there is a label telling you to refridgerate it, I would though and then let it warm to room temp.  That's what I always did with my follistim.

  • That's where I got mine too! Like I said, I don't know why it says it but I used it right out of the fridge and had no problems. Good luck!
