Best infant wrapper

I'm due in September for my second and am looking for an easy wrap for my newborn as I try to keep up with my toddler.  I'm eyeing the Moby but I wonder if it's pretty difficult to use and is there a ton of excess fabric always that hangs?  I feel like that would bother me.  Any advice or other wrap ideas?

Congrats, mama. If you're looking for quick & easy, try a SSC lime the Ergo. When LO is brand new, you can wrap the Moby (or another stretchy wrap like the baby K'tan) around you first, then pop LO in and out as needed, tightening & retying the wrap if it gets loose. Another quick & easy wrap would be a ring sling but that does have a bit of extra fabric hanging down. I was happy with a stretchy wrap until DS was about 15lbs. Then he was getting too big and stretching it out. I was comfortable with the Ergo when he was around albs, big enough to go w/o the insert. HTH. H&H 9 mo!!

Ooh, the baby k'tan looks very easy!!  Do you think that is pretty safe for a newborn?

IMHO, anything that allows for proper positioning is safe for a newborn as long as you are alert. Do you know what to watch for? His head should be close enough that you can put your head down and kiss him without stretching, his chin should be off his chest to keep his airway open, there should be fresh air available at all times (don't cover his nose/face with fabric), feel him regularly to check for overheating, none of his limbs should turn blue (wrapped too tight). I'm trying to remember back when Dez was brand new. You may want to hop on www.thebabywearer.com (you'll need to create an account), I'm sure they'll have all the safety info for newborns.
