My boobs!

My breasts feel like they weigh 2,000 pounds each. As a former A-cup (very, very A-cup) having boobs this big is shocking me. And they ache. DD has a definite preference for my right boob so we're working hard to get her on the left too but it's very uncomfortable (they both are, but that one more so).

Breastfeeding is definitely an adventure. I never thought it'd be so nerve wracking.

Re: My boobs!

  • I must say, I'm kind of jealous! My milk is in and my very very A cup is still a very very (hard) A cup. I feel like I got ripped off!!

  • I feel like all kids prefer one side over the other, both of my children loved my left side, I thought it was maybe because they could hear/feel my heart beat but not sure.

I totally feel your pain, I could literally feed a small village with my milk.  My breasts are huge, heavy and full of milk like very three hours. I have to pump after I nurse DS.  I know this is a blessing to have such a great supply but holy huge sore boobs!

  • Yessss I know the feeling. I wasn't an A - small C, but when I was engorged even the DD I was wearing while I was PG (which was a lil big) didn't fit. I'd have indents from my nursing bras they were so bad. The first time around with my DS was more shocking. I was more prepared for the realities of BFing this time around. If they're still super full and uncomfortable after you feed DD hand express or pump some out. And feed your baby as often as you can. I was waking DD up every hour on the hour cause I was sooooo engorged. I preferred hand expressing myself. Took me abt 7 days from the time my milk came in for it to pass. Hang in there!!

  • Thanks for the understanding, and for the suggestions Mrs.HMommy! I've been using my pump to relieve pressure and found that if I do it just a little before I feed her when I'm feeling full she has an easier time of it. Last night she nursed both sides fantastically. I feed about every two hours but will try her on the boob if she starts acting like she wants it, no matter how long it has been. Hopefully we're getting the hang of this!
