Thanks! If you don't mind me asking, what does your typical breakfast or lunch look like? I was just diagnosed on Wednesday and don't meet with a dietician until Monday but today I'm STARVING. I did well this morning but this afternoon I'm so hungry. I had a bowl of soup for lunch then carrots and hummus for a snack.
My endo has me testing 1 hour after and that is what my regluar dr wants me to follow, since that is why I was sent to him. According to him it keeps our sugars even more in check. It must be doing something good since baby is measuring 6lbs ish at 37 weeks (perfectly average) instead of too big. Yay!
I have to do fasting, then after every meal. I was told at the start that ideally I should be testing 2 hours after every meal. Sometimes this isn't possible though. I have guidelines for what my BS levels should be at after 1 hour and after 2. If I test one hour after a meal I always mark it as 1hrXXX so they know why that number is a little higher.
Both the nurse and the endo have no problem with me switching from 1 to 2 hours as long as everything is marked clearly and my numbers are under the cut-off.

I know I'm at the tail end of things now, but only saw a diabetic educator nurse once and never again. Any reason you ladies were seeing an endo?
At my hospital every GD patient has to see the Endo once, and then if you're on Insulin (like I am) then you see her once again before giving birth, and then again for a pp visit to go over your GTT results.
I also see either the diabetic nurse or the diabetic dietician/educator every other week to go over my numbers and to evaluate my insulin doseage.

As soon as I wake up in the a.m., 2 hours after I START breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Occasionally intermittently in there if I feel "off" but the above 4 are what I was directed to do by the doc.
Loving life with DH, DS (5), DD and Angel Baby DS watching down from Heaven! We are excited to be trying for our final LO!
