High-Risk Pregnancy

Just got a BFP but Nervous

My DH and I just found out today that we are officially pregnant.  I am little worried because I am diabetic and want everything to go ok.  Can anyone give me any advise what all to do?  Thanks

  • First off, congrats on your BFP! That's great! I am also diabetic and pregnant, and my pregnancy has gone just fine! :) I understand how you're feeling, because I felt the same way when we found out!

Just make sure that you are working with your regular doctor and your OB; one of the two may want to be the one keeping an eye on you and managing your diabetes while you're pregnant. You may have to go to a dietician so they can talk to you about what you can/can't eat while pregnant and what foods are good for the baby. You can feel free to contact me if you have any questions I might be able to help you out with. :)

  • Congrats! I'm T1, and my pregnancy has gone great. My endo referred me to the Perinatal practice at the hospital where we will deliver our baby boy, so it's been great since I haven't had to see mulitple docs over these last months.

If you have any Q's, PM me! Again, congrats!

  • I have type 1 diabetes too and things have been going pretty well with the support of my OB and endo. I often visit www.diabeticmommy.com for more support. Their forum has really given me a lot of support and inspiration to keep going. Good Luck!

  • Congrats! I'm Type 1 and things are going pretty well. I hit Vialbility day tomorrow! I'm not going to say it's easy being diabetic and pregnant (if you're Type 1 expect losts of crazy lows in the first trimester) and I'm still nervous but try to enjoy it as much as you can. With the exception of some HBP issues I'm just now starting to face my little boy is healthy! My OB told me that sometimes diabetics have progesterone problems so have yours check your levels if it gives you peace of mind. After two m/c he put me on progesterone for this 3rd pregnancy and it got me safely to the second trimester. GL!
