Moby Wrap ?

Hello:

My baby is one week old today and weighs 7lbs 5oz as of this morning... I put her in the Moby wrap, which she seems to love, but then I noticed that the instructions say that it is to be used with infants who are 8+lbs. Has anyone used the Moby for smaller babies-- any special advice if you have done this?

Also, she's a bit more sideways than the picture in the instructions. Again, she seems happy and her face/ nose/ mouth are not covered, but do I need to worry about her positioning since she's still so new and doesn't yet have neck control?

 Thank you!

Re: Moby Wrap ?

  • I'm not sure how to post a picture... any help on how to do that? Do I need to have an online picture account first? I did check out her chin and there is some space between that and her chest. She's pretty mellow in the wrap.
  • Loading the player...
  • I used it with LO before she was 8 lbs, just kept a close eye on her airways.
  • As long as you wrap correctly it is perfectly safe to use the moby.

Are you using the nb hug hold or cradle hold?

To post a pic you can use either photobucket or tinypic.  Load your photo into one of those, resize the photo please, then copy the [IMG] code and past it onto here and thats it :)

  • I used the moby with DD when she came home from the nicu at 4 lbs 3 oz and used it until she was 10 lbs. We loved it. I used the newborn hold until she was about 7 lbs then did the reg hug hold and just always kept her head tucked in until she had good head control. I also always monitored her face/nose/mouth, skin color, and breathing.
