I am dairy/soy/egg free and looking for snack ideas! I'm getting sick of my usual hummus and pita chips, organic pb and crackers, chips and salsa and fruit. Help!
I'm hooked on veggie stix from Trader Joes. They contain wheat but none of the others on your list although they are made in a facility that processes the other ingredients. We have not had a problem with cross contamination but you might want to avoid things like that since you are still in the early phases of your E.D.
I know you are tired of PB but I love apples dipped in PB. I also will sometimes sneak one of DD's Apple/Carrot fruit crushers from TJs, as well. In other words, apple sauce. Also some variety of Chex are o.k. so I eat them dry by the handful, as does DD ( I have to hide them though, she is a cereal monger).
Have you had the Enjoy Life chocolate chips yet? Also great by the handful..or umm bagful
Is yours all soy, or just soy milk? I ask because DD can't do soy milk, but if there is soy oil or things like that as an ingrediant she is usually ok. My selections below may have some soy, but not soy milk.
I often have Clif Honey & Oat Granola bars, or Nature Valley Oats n' Honey bars.
I also do graham crackers, be careful of the brand though because some brands do have milk in them. I eat the Whole Foods 365 brand (honey, and cinnamon) and the Annie's bunny grahams (honey).
Those are my staples, but I have also found that "POP" chips and Kettle chips have flavors like salt and vinegar, jalepeno, etc, that are free of dairy etc where other brands have dairy in them.
I also do lots of fruit, and occasionally I'll have cheerio type cereals with bananas, just without milk. lol.
Thanks!! I will have to look for some of these things. I'm having a hard time finding things people have recommended. We don't have TJ's. Just Whole Foods (a really small one) and some other stores I don't think are too common. I spend at least an hour in the grocery store just looking for things for me and have such a hard time! I really need to find those chocolate chips! I would be eating them by the bag too haha!
