Re: Differences between flips, econobums, thirsties covers etc

  • I haven't used all three so I only know from what I've seen reviewed on the board...but econobums are the cheapest and a lot of women seem to think you get what you pay for and they're flimsy.  Flips are a one size cover where as Thirsties come sized or in the duo 1/2 versions.  Thirsties also have the extra leg gussets where the others don't.

As far as I know you can use the disposable inserts in pretty much any of the covers.  We used GroVia in our Flips and it worked just fine.

  • Thank you! I figured you could use the inserts in any cover. I thought maybe there was something special about the flips when it came to holding in the disposables. So you like the Flips with disposables? I feel like you either love them or you hate them. Ive thought about trying out for travel purposes but Ill prb just stick to disposables. Unless you can convince me otherwise :) I guess since I already own Thirsties I could try it out and see what I think.

  • I haven't tried the actual Flip disposable...I ended up getting the GroVia because I liked that they had leg gussets and got overall better reviews.  To be honest I only used them one time to try them out.  They worked fine, but I got them for travelling and found cloth is just as easy so I haven't used them again.  It's nice having them as a backup if ever needed though...especially to keep in the diaper bag for emergencies!

  • I used the Flip sposies for a trip and about lost my mind. I spent a lot of time in the hotel bathroom washing poop out of the covers and hoping that they dried before I ran out of covers.

that seems to be a trend! I think I'll stick w disposables while traveling and pass the info to my friend!
