Is there a 6 month growth spurt?

I have been a 24 hour buffett for a day and a half now and need reassurance that it will be a short lived phase.

These are times I really really wish he would atleast take a bottle, I feel like I can't leave for 20 minutes in fear of him getting hungry while I'm gone.  He just came off a daytime nursing strike, so it's been a bit of an adjustment.

Not to mention my "girls" feel like they did when we first started nursing....ow!

*if not growth spurt, could it be teeth?  He has been a little extra fussy and clingy.

  • Oh yes!  My little guy ate like a horse for a few days, didn't get much sleep... and then popped a tooth :-)

It was pretty short-lived though - just a few days... sure felt like longer though!  Drinking more water and eating frequently helped me get through it - I was ravenous too LOL.

  • Everything I have read has said the 6 month growth spurt is a major one, but we still have a couple months to go...

  • Thank goodness!  Now i feel silly for dragging him to the doctor today, I was sure he had an ear infection.

Go figure my kid would start his growth spurt right as I'm coming off the stomach flu.

I thought the 6 week growth spurt was bad...but that only lasted like 12-18 hours.  Guess I should prepare myself for another all night buffett (back to cosleeping we go)
