My father-in-law is being admitted into the hospital in TN for some medical testing. He has blood clots in his lungs (pulmonary embolism) and some other symptoms. Please keep my family in your thoughts and prayers.
Also... we may drive down there tonight/tomorrow. I'm not sure. I'll be sure to have my Beco/Ergo and stroller...But what are some other must haves that I might forget? I don't want to pack the whole house in panic, but I don't want to forget anything either.
I'm obviously packing food for her, clothes, etc. The hospital is about 4 hours away from my house, but we can stay at my inlaws (hour and a half).
Any advice will be helpful.
Re: T&P please
So sorry to hear that! My dad actually was in the hospital for massive PEs (coincidentally, he is also in TN) several years ago. He did recover from it and has to take blood thinners now, but otherwise has only minor issues. He does have some circulatory problems in the leg where the clot originated. Feel free to PM me if you have questions or anything; I have done lots of reading on clotting disorders.
In terms of what to bring, when we travelled with DD last she was around 13 mths. I brought a few of her favorite books and toys and also stashed a couple new ones just in case. That turned out to be a big help when she got bored and restless, especially in the car and on the plane.
I am so sorry to hear this. Your family is in my thoughts.
We recently had a hospital stint with my father and packing last minute was overwhelming. We packed extra pjs because we weren't sure what times we would be at the hospital so we wanted some in the diaper bag. If we used them, we didn't want to reuse them the next night because they had been in the hospital. We also brought a few books and toys. The best thing was my mom bought DS a balloon. He can play wtih a balloon for hours on end, that balloon was a sanity saver. Best of luck to your family, I hope everything works out well.
Hugs to your family.
I always brought along soft books for DD when I didn't know where we might be. They worked great for weddings and other places where a squeaky baby/toddler might not have been appreciated.
