I still cut my daughters grapes into quarters because I am convinced she is going to choke on them. I think maaaaaaybe it's overkill. When can you give toddlers grapes whole? Maddie is 20 (almost 21) months.
Oh, and these are the round, not the more oval grapes if that matters.
Re: Grapes for Toddlers
I dunno... I only started giving Aaron grapes two weeks ago and I quarter them. He's, what, 3 months younger than Maddie? (Will be 18 months on Monday.)
I think I'll keep quartering them until I feel he's not shoving food into his mouth with both hands and going UM! I don't trust him to chew quite yet.

She is still working on her canines. They are poking through, but are not all the way in. Her other teeth are in including her her first molars.
Grapes scare me too. Maybe because they are so perfectly round and slippery! I cut most everything up bite sized except bananas. I think I'll just keep quartering them for a while.

no way would i give a 20mo child a whole grape - HUGE choking hazard. A friend of mine's nephew died choking on a grape at 2y/o. They freak me out.
i still cut DS1's in 1/2 - and he's about to turn 4. If we are out somewhere and they are whole he knows he has to bite them in 1/2 before putting in his mouth.
i cut then in 4's for the twins - they are 20mo.
