TTC After a Loss 6 Months+

suppression check was today :)

And I am suppressed!!!!  So I'll be starting stims on Friday!!!  I am excited about it, but nervous about the lovenox that I have to take as well.  I've heard so many people say how bad it is - that shot is making me the most afraid.  ::shudder::

I will go back in for b/w Monday and then start every-other-day b/w and u/s after that.

Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers - this is our one shot for IVF.

  • The lovenox is the worst of the shots, however, you kind of get used to it. Here is what I do: 1. Ice the area for a couple of minutes (I have a small ice pack was given the tip of a can of soda/beer), 2. clean, 3. My hematologist told me to spread the area but I kind of grab a BIG area and stab myself, 4. release the skin before pressing the plunger, 5. press the plunger VERY slowly, it burns a lot less if you go slow, 6. remove needle and ice area again.

I've been doing them for a month twice a day now and I thought I was getting so tough I didn't need the ice and it left me with a big bruise, lesson learned. Also try not to inject an area that is in line with your waistband, it will rub the area and cause a bruise.

It sucks but hopefully worth it in the end, right?

Thank you so much for the advice Amy!!  I wasn't sure about icing or not, I will definately try that.  All the videos I have watched say to pinch the skin, not spread it.  I thought spreading the skin for for IM shots like PIO.

I have heard some people say they heat the area after - did you ever try that or just the ice before and after?   I can't believe you have to have that shot twice a day - ugh.  Do you do PIO as well?

You are right though - it will all be worth it in the end!!  When are you testing?  Or are you waiting for the beta?  I can't wait!!!  Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

I haven't heard about heating it, but the ice seems to work for me. And I don't have to do the PIO, I just do the Crinone (the suppository) twice a day.

I did test yesterday and it was negative (big surprise) so I'm  going to try to wait until the betas on Monday. We'll see if I can do it.

  • Well, at least you know the tirgger is out.  Testing Wednesday, you would have only been 4dp5dt, so that is still really early.  I hoep you can hold out til, your beta, I have no will power, so I most likely couldn't.  I so hope that this is it for you!!!
