2 weeks from this Friday we are leaving AZ to move back to the midwest...eek! Ever since we moved out here we always said we'd move back when we had kids since that's where both of our families are. I've been happy with our decision up until the last week or so and now all of the sudden I'm freaking out. Yes, I'm excited that we will have family near us, that's our whole reason for doing this but part of me thinks I'm a little crazy to be leaving a place that's gorgeous and sunny pretty much year round. I keep reminding myself that I'm doing this for family and not for the weather but it's hard when I'm such an outdoor person and am outside nearly everday. I'm not looking for advice or anything but maybe some stories on how much you love having family close by would help
Re: Am I crazy?
Little Rose is 2 1/2.
While sometimes my family drives me nuts and I want to escape them
it really is a blessing to have them nearby. We have several different family members we trust to choose from when it comes to babysitting our son, in contrast to some of my co-workers who sometimes struggle to find a sitter for their kids.
Also, I have really great memories of growing up spending time with my grandparents, cousins, aunt/uncles and I'm excited for Linus to have those experiences as well.
I just want to give you a world as beautiful as you are to me.
I would love for our families to live closer (most of the time
) and I'm always surprised DH wouldn't consider moving back "home". Regarding being outside, I totally understand. I was in NM for a while and it was really tough to head back to a climate that always seemed too hot and muggy in the summer and too cold and gross in the winter. For your first winter I'd try out some new winter sports. We've just started snowshoeing and xc skiing this winter which are great ways to explore and there's lots of neat gear out there for getting kiddos out warmly. We're loving it so far!
